Celtic Coast Music ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of our students and their families. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our online lesson booking platform at book.celticcoastmusic.ca.

We comply with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

When you create an account and book lessons, we collect the following information:

• Student name and age
• Parent or guardian name (for students under 18)

• Phone number
• Emergency contact name and phone number
• Musical background and experience
• Instrument access (e.g. full bagpipes, practice chanter)
• Lesson booking history

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely for the following purposes:

• To create and manage your account
• To schedule and manage lesson bookings
• To contact you regarding your lessons, cancellations, or schedule changes
• To reach your emergency contact if necessary during a lesson
• To tailor lessons to your musical experience and goals
• To send lesson confirmation and reminder emails

4. Children's Privacy

We recognize the importance of protecting the privacy of children. For students under the age of 18, we require a parent or guardian to complete the registration process and provide consent. By registering a minor, the parent or guardian confirms they have the authority to provide the student's information and consent to this Privacy Policy on their behalf.

Parents and guardians may request to review, update, or delete their child's information at any time by contacting us at the email address below.

5. How We Store Your Information

Your information is stored securely using Google Firebase, a cloud platform operated by Google LLC. Data is stored on servers that may be located outside of Canada, including in the United States. Google Firebase complies with industry-standard security practices including encryption in transit and at rest.

Access to your personal information is strictly limited to Celtic Coast Music administrators (Aaron Bergen and designated staff).

6. How Long We Keep Your Information

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or administrative purposes.

7. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to any third parties. We do not share your information with anyone outside of Celtic Coast Music except:

• As required by law or legal process
• To protect the rights, property, or safety of Celtic Coast Music, our students, or others
• With service providers (such as Google Firebase and Resend) strictly for the purpose of operating this platform — these providers are bound by their own privacy policies and are not permitted to use your data for other purposes

8. Your Rights

Under Canadian privacy law, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Withdraw consent to the collection or use of your information (note: this may affect your ability to use the booking platform)

Our booking platform does not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics. Firebase may use technical cookies necessary for authentication and session management.
